The Relocator

There are four unique Pokemon that are used to trigger fateful encouters in the game – these were given out at special events, for your Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum cards. To move these Pokemon into the game you use the Relocator Machine – not the Pal Park (Pal Park is used for moving all of the other Pokemon into the game).

On the upper floor of the Name-Rater Services Building in Castelia City you will find a Scientist who, when you speak with him, alludes to a special machine that he has built. To use it you will need a password – the password is Everyone Happy Simple Connection.

You can now use the relocator for transferring all of the special event Pokemon to Black/White and obtain the lock capsule which lets you obtain the final TM – TM95, Snarl, which you get from using the Relocator with Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver or through a future event.

Trainer Card Colours

As with the previous generation games, the colour of your Trainer Card indicates that you have completed specific events or tasks in the game – these events are:

(1) Defeat the Elite 4
(2) Obtain a 49-win Streak in both Super Single and Super Double Subway lines in the Battle Subway
(3) Obtain all Entralink Powers
(4) Obtain all Pokemon Musical Items
(5) Complete the National Pokedex

Birthday Specials

On your birthday (the date you entered into your DS for your birthday) there are several special events you can look forward to:

(1) Birthday Weather: Routes 14 and 15 are normally weather-engaged, but on your birthday they will have clear and sunny weather.

(2) Nurse Joy wishes you joy on your birthday: Just speak with the nurse in the Pokemon Center for your special birthday greetings.

(3) The Cake is NOT a Lie: Visit the Pokemon Musical and talk to the owner to receive your birthday cake.

Obtaining Zoroark

To obtain Zoroark you will need one of the Fateful Encounter Pokemon that were distributed to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum at special events prior to the release of Black and White. You know if you have those, as you had to go to the events to get them!

Use the Relocator to transfer any ONE of the following into your game:

RAIKOU (#243)
ENTEI (#244)
SUICUNE (#245)

After the transfer visit the Lostlorn Forest (Accessed through Route 16) to find and capture this new Legendary Pokemon!

Obtaining Zorua

To obtain Zorua you will need to have previously obtained the Fateful Encounter Celebi at an event for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum held prior to the release of Black & White. Using the Relocator Machine, transfer the Celebi you received into the game.

With the Fateful Encounter Celebi in your party, go to Castelia City gate, where you will talk to the people there until you trigger an event that will progress on it's own after you start it, and conclude with you receiving Zorua!

Extra Services / Network Services

You noticed that no matter how you try, you cannot connect to the Extranet Services in your game – stop worrying, there is nothing wrong with your game! Due to the Earthquake and Tsunami, all of the Extranet Services for Pokemon Black and White have either been delayed in the case of the parts that were not active, or turned off for the parts that were active.

No date has been set for the resumption of services and the launching of the remaining services.

Generation V Pal Park

Located on Route 15 is a building that is very similar to the Pal Park of the previous games at which you can connect your previous generation games to Black or White once you have obtained the National Pokedex.

When you enter the Transfer Lab, you are told in some detail how it all works. Once you sit through the tutorial you can then access the transferring program pretty much whenever you want, assuming that you have two physical DS's and the game cartridges are in the proper state – ie they each have the National Dex and you have completed their story modes.

To use the Pal Park you will need a copy of Black or White, and any of the previous generation games that meet the requirements – which includes Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver. If you have Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, or LeafGreen, you will need to transfer their Pokemon – via Pal Park – to Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, SoulSilver, or HeartGold before you can move them into Black or White.

At the connection screens you will trigger a Download App which will link your Generation IV game to Black or White, and like Pal Park, you can send over your Pokemon six at a time – though unlike the Gen IV games, there is no limit or timer associated with the process in Black or White.

Note that you cannot transfer Pokemon with hold items or that know Hidden Machine moves sadly. If your Pokemon knows an HM you will have to visit the Move Deleter in your game and delete it. Eggs cannot be transferred between generations so you will have to hatch them first, and sadly, you cannot transfer the Spiky-eared Pichu at all.

If you are looking to unlock Zorua or Zoroark DO NOT transfer your Fateful Encounter event Pokemon via this method because it will NOT trigger the event! For those you must use the Relocator Machine.

Downloadable Content!

One of the unique features of Gen V is the Global Link Station and it's ability to add DLC to your game! In addition to all of the usual stuff you can do with GLS, you can also add new wallpaper and event items, as well as some special kit to be announced.

That being the case you should take the time to visit the official Pokemon website and the Global Link Website and create an account on both.

Some of the special items obtained from Global Link are time-limited, so be sure to check it weekly and to regularly visit Pokemon.com for news and event information as well!
